EROSION CONTROL

Blankets, Wattles, and Logs

Erosion control products are an essential part of any soil stabilization, reinforcement, or restoration project. Perfect for banks, slopes, hillsides, or channels, these sediment erosion products reinforce surrounding areas to prevent erosion and allow vegetation to take root. Whether you need biodegradable, temporary, or permanent soil erosion control products, we have a solution that can meet your needs. Available options include woven and nonwoven geotextiles, straw blankets, coir mats, wattles, and logs.

Straw Blankets

Straw blankets are primarily used to reduce soil erosion in an effort to reduce suspended solids from entering waterways, which damages wildlife in rivers and streams.

  • Helps prevent soil erosion in disturbed areas on a job site

  • Promotes vegetation by retaining moisture in the soil

  • Slope stabilization

  • Support in channels

  • Land restoration projects

  • Slope or channel erosion control

Excelsior Netting

Excelsior netting is designed to actually promote ideal growing conditions for grass seed, while protecting topsoil from wind and water erosion. Wet curled excelsior fibers slightly expand in thickness and interlock to form a strong, fiber matrix and creating a built-in swell factor. This allows the fibers to have close contact with the area it is placed upon. Basically, the mat clings to the soil with “barbed” fibers to reduce soil loss and strengthen the foundation. Water flow tends to follow the curled fibers while the roughness of the curled excelsior  slows the water flow speed to a point where gravity takes over. This allows moisture to slowly seep into the topsoil instead of running off and creating erosion complications.

Wattles

Straw or excelsior wattles reduce erosion, increase filtration, and retain soil for one to two years, making them ideal for temporary protection while permanent vegetation becomes established. Straw wattles are an excellent way to prevent sheet erosion, rills, and gullies by serving as a functional method of decelerating the velocity of water runoff in channels and slopes. They also serve to filter sediment out of water before entering storm drain inlets – especially useful in perimeter controls on lots and construction sites.Benefits:

  • Ideal for Filtration

  • Can be Joined Together

  • Staked into Place During Use

  • Perfect for Storm Drains or Inlets

  • All Natural and Biodegradable Fill

  • Effectively Allows Water Flow Through
